My photo sessions are not a quick 30 minute session, but more like a pampered and relaxing experience.

Your session is all about you and providing you with timeless images that are truly irreplaceable! I pride myself on quality not quantity, and exceeding clients expectations: you'll be excited to show off your images taken by Lp photography!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you share my images online?
I do not share any of your images without permission. There are clients that let me share all of their photos via website, magazines and social media. Others prefer to keep their images private, while some allow me to share images but only ones of their choosing.

Where does the session take place?
There are a couple different studios we can photograph at, it all depends on your style. With the images on my website, those are taken at a studio in Cumberland, RI (right over the MA border). We can also shoot at your home, depending on lighting and space.

Can I bring a friend with me?
You are welcome to bring a friend with you. I know it can help clients get more comfortable.

Is hair and makeup included? Can I just do my own and save money?
Every session includes full hair and makeup services. Getting your hair and makeup done is when you can relax, get comfortable and get excited for your shoot. Having a professional do your makeup also means they know how to do camera-ready makeup that will make you feel and look boudoir ready!

I feel like I have a lot of makeup on. Am I going to look like myself?
Don’t stress! It may seem like a lot of makeup in person but on camera, it’s the right amount. But I do want you to be happy with your look, so let us know if you want to make any adjustments.

How long will the photo shoot be?
Hair and makeup can take an hour and a half. Then, depending on the package you purchase, the shoot can be 1-2 hours long, so make sure your day is free. I want you to have fun and not stress about your next appointment.

Do I bring my own lingerie?
Yes, you’ll want to bring your own lingerie. A lot of clients like to bring a couple props as well. A lot of bridal boudoir clients bring their wedding vail, garter and/or wedding shoes. I’ve had other clients bring jerseys of their partners favorite sports team. I’ve even had a client bring amazing angel wings!

I don’t know how to pose, will you help me with this?
Don’t fret! All my clients have had the same worry. I would guide you with your posing and facial expressions. I can happily say, clients always tell me that they were so worried they’d feel uncomfortable in front of the camera, but ended up having a great time!

I don’t see nude photos on your website. Do you offer that type of photography?
Yes! Clients that request these photos prefer that I don’t share them, that’s why you don’t see any on my website. I will only photograph tasteful nudes though, I will let you know if the pose is fitting to my taste.

I’m older than (or not as thin as) the girls on your website, can I still book a session?
Yes! I’ve photographed all sorts of women of age, shapes and sizes. A lot of clients aren't comfortable with their photos online. That’s why you might not see a lot of these clients.

Where do photo shoots take place?
Maternity shoots can be done outside or in a studio (there are a couple of studio options at an additional cost), depending on the style that you are looking for. With outside locations, we can shoot at a place of your choosing or I can help find the ideal location.

Why is it so expensive?
Your maternity journey will fly by so these life experiences are priceless. Maternity photography is a luxury and each session is exclusively designed around you and only you! My sessions are an experience and are designed to encompass quality over quantity. With my attention to detail and focus on quality, the products I provide my clients are timeless keepsakes. I can promise that you will cherish Lp photography products for a lifetime.

When should I schedule my maternity shoot?
It’s never too early to schedule your maternity session. I recommend at least a 4 to 6-week notice. Sometimes I can accommodate last minute requests. It is best to photograph close to 34 weeks into your pregnancy. This is when your belly is just the right size, it will be big and beautiful, but not so big that it’s difficult for you to move around, change positions, and pose for the camera. However, if you’re having twins (or more), I recommend photographing before 8 months.

Lindsay did such an AMAZING job on our newborn photos. Her patience was outstanding and she made us feel so comfortable. Would highly recommend lp photography for newborn photo shoot, especially great if you have a special pet you would like included!!

–Kate

Your baby will only be a newborn for a few weeks, so these moments are literally once in a lifetime. I pride myself on capturing the softness of a newborns skin, their delicate features, and the amazing cuteness that is your precious newborn! Your family will look back at these images for years, long after your child has grown up--after all, who doesn't love reminiscing with baby photos?

What happens after my photo shoot?
Head over to General FAQ.

Why is it so expensive?
Your baby will only be a newborn for a brief period, so catching onto these life experiences is priceless. Newborn photography is a luxury and each session is exclusively designed around you and only you! This type of shoot isn't a quick 30 min shoot. With newborns, I provide an in-home session, props, posing and more. It’s all about quality not quantity. These details are what make me unique and provide you with timeless images. I can promise that you will cherish Lp photography products for a lifetime.

Why is the ideal age for a newborn session 5-10 days old?
Babies are more flexible at this age and are more likely to curl up into the womb-like poses, stay asleep longer and don’t mind being unclothed.

Does studio lighting bother my baby?
Studio lighting does not bother newborns. My lights are diffused, which makes the light very soft, just like when daytime light comes through white curtains.

Can I have extended family at my newborn photo sessions?
I know it is an exciting time and you’ll want to have family members over, but when it comes to your newborn shoot, you will want it to be you, your partner and just your children. We want it to be a calm environment, which is key to a successful shoot. I am always happy to schedule an extended family shoot at a separate time.

Do you do extended family portraits?
Yes, extended family portraits are a great way for grandparents, and other family members to have photos done with their new family member. Keep in mind, extended family photos are not taken the same day as a maternity or newborn shoot.

What is a Posed Newborn Photo Shoot verses a Lifestyle Newborn Photo Shoot?
With posed newborn photography, I pose the baby myself, use a backdrop setup, props and studio lighting. Lifestyle newborn photography is when I photograph the baby in a natural setting. I photograph the interaction between the baby and the members of the family.

Do you do extended family portraits?
Yes, extended family portraits are a great way for grandparents, and other family members to have photos done with their new family member. Keep in mind, extended family photos are not taken the same day as a maternity or newborn shoot.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the “Creative Fee” include?
The creative fee covers the time and talent of photographer, planning and communication with client, setting up and performing the photo session, artistic retouching and editing of images, and an in-person viewing and ordering session. Creative fee does not include any prints or digital files. Prints, albums, and a variety of other products would be purchased separately through Lp photography, during our reveal session and ordering appointment. Product purchase is due the day of the reveal session.

What are Collections?
There are a variety of photo collections that you can purchase. For instance, I offer high-end photo albums, floating, metal and framed statement pieces, keepsake boxes and more!

How much does an average shoot cost?
Not including the Creative fee (see above), most clients spend between 1500-3000 on Collections per photo shoot.  I offer a variety of Collection options to fit different households, different budgets, and individual Client needs.

Can I do a payment plan?
Yes, one advantage of scheduling shoots far ahead of time is that you can choose to arrange a payment plan. I am willing to work with Clients on a case-by-case basis, and I will usually not charge any interest or surcharge for payment plans as long as payments are paid and received on time. Usually payment plans will be scheduled via auto-pay as agreed upon. The one caveat is that you cannot receive the product(s) until they are paid in full.

What happens after my photo session?

1. Once I finish editing your images (within a week), I will come to your home for the photo reveal. This is when I present the photo slideshow on your TV. I also offer Reveal Sessions via Zoom.

2. Our sessions are A la Carte, so, depending on how many images you love, you will decide what type of products you’d like to order. Many clients like to purchase albums and/or memory box, but there are a great variety of other products. Many like to purchase gifts for grandparents too!

3. The product payment will be made the same day as the photo reveal, via Venmo, Cash or Square.

4. Depending on your purchase, you will receive your products within 1-4 weeks. I will come and personally deliver your products to you. If you decide to order large framed statement pieces, I can also provide free installation services!

Do I get digital files?

The images you choose to purchase as Collections, you will also receive them as watermark digital files  -- free of charge. If you'd like high resolution digitals with no watermark, contact me for more information! If you choose to use any images on social media, please tag Lp photography on Facebook @lpphotostudio517 and on Instagram @lpphotostudio.
