Getting Some Ideas

Take a minute to think about your clothing, hair & makeup!

  • Think about the lingerie, clothing, props and accessories that you are looking to wear and don’t forget the heels! You can always look through Pinterest to get some inspiration. I have two great Pinterest boards that may help, Boudoir Outfit Ideas & Bridal Boudoir.
  • It’s important to communicate with your Hair & Makeup Artist on what type of look you are going for. For instance, how do you want your hairstyle? Big, loose curls, half-up, half-down or suave and straight? With your makeup, are you thinking natural, bridal or dramatic and daring?  You can checkout my Pinterest board,  Boudoir Hair & Makeup Ideas, to get some thoughts on what you might like!

The Nitty Gritty

There are some small things that can be forgotten about that you’ll want to take care of before your shoot. Here are some tips on what not to forget!

  • Don’t forget to schedule your manicure & pedicure! Your nails are more noticeable than you may think.
  • It’s important to wear CLEAR deodorant!
  • Luminous skin equals water, water, water! So don’t forget to hydrate at least a week leading up to your photo shoot. Also, avoid salt as much as possible since it retains water.
  • Avoid any type of tanning before your shoot! Tanning can be difficult to work with in postproduction. Trust me, your natural skin tone will look much better. If you must tan, you’ll want to do it at least a week before the shoot.
  • If you plan on waxing it is important to do this a week beforehand to avoid redness and irritation.

Before You Arrive

Finally, here are a few tips on what to do before your arrive!

  • Remember to have clean hair and moisturized skin before you leave the house!
  • Review the directions to the shooting location beforehand so you can arrive on time. Don’t forget to search for possible traffic along your route!
  • Wear loose-fitting clothing on your way there, to avoid marks on your skin.

Whats most important is to have fun, feel special and relaxed. This day is all about you!
