I had never shot on Boston’s Castle Island before I photographed Carrie and Colin. The multi-colored skyline is free of distracting background objects and made for a uniquely beautiful and easy photoshoot.
And it didn’t hurt that the soon-to-be-mother was glowing more than the setting sun. Colin, is an ideal husband and now father who is funny and lighthearted when needed (insistent on getting a “Rocky” themed photo) but is also supportive of and encouraging to Carrie when required during the shoot.
They signed up for a Belly to Baby package and after our first shoot I couldn’t wait for Christian to be born and work with this growing family again. Watching Carrie go from expectant and diligent first-time mother to confident caregiver in just a few weeks is one of my favorite parts of the job. But in truth my favorite part of every shoot I do is capturing unforgettable and life-changing moments.
Carrie, Colin and Christian are the perfect type of young and growing family to take advantage of the Belly to Baby package. They were a pleasure to work with and I wish them all many happy years in the future!
I love this picture for obvious reasons. I always insist on having outdoor shoots around sundown for ideal lighting conditions, but as the saying goes: sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good.
Baby Christian was born July 12th, 2017 at 7:49am, weighing 6 lbs. 2 oz. and 18 1/2 inches long.
This is my favorite shot, it is absolutely precious especially with his little blue hat and pillow (made by MoniquesMenagerieMarket.com).⠀
I always get close up shots of the little fingers and toes. I feel like it’s always a must, they are the cutest.
This is another favorite shot with the Allen family. Its such a special moment between father and son, some photos are just meant to be black and white.
Lifestyle shots are also some of the best images. Seeing something that is real and not posed, makes it that much better.
