A couple of weeks ago I photographed a couple at Castle Island in South Boston. Carrie and Colin are due at the end of July with their first child. I loved shooting with these two because they were fun and goofy. It can be totally awkward for people to be in front of the camera (I know personally), so sometimes the only thing you can do to get comfortable is to be silly. So that’s what we did.
In addition to our fun and quirky shooting environment, I really loved Carrie’s maternity dress, it really made her images pop, especially with her beautiful turquoise necklace.
Before this shoot, I am not sure how, but I had never been out to Castle Island before. It’s a very cool place to visit. It’s a place to bike, fish, swim, go to the play ground, watch the sail boats and/or learn a little bit of history by touring Fort Independence.
Castle Island was also a great place to shoot because it gave us a lot of variety, we had backgrounds of: ocean, beach, castle, park and more. I love finding new shooting locations because it gives me more variety for future Clients.
My favorite part of our session was the very end, where I was able to catch some silhouette shots of the two of them with the picturesque backdrop of a Boston sunset.
